Reserves

The Woodson County Sheriff's Office Reserve Deputies are a true asset to our department. At this point the department only has two Reserve Deputies but we are looking to build that division as we start doing some fundraising to outfit more Reserves.

Some of those assignments are as follows:

  • Patrolling with the deputies
  • Working the high school ball games
  • Helping with crowd control at public events
  • Prisoner transports
  • Crime Scene perimeter detail
  • Traffic control
  • And many other duties that are assigned by patrol as approved

The Reserves will receive the same training, other than KLETC, that patrol receives. They have to qualify with the weapons that they carry, they will be trained on OC use, Taser use, Crime Scene investigations, defense tactics, report writing, Use of Force, etc.

If you are interested in becoming a Reserve and want to get involved in activities for fundraising please e-mail the Sheriff or Undersheriff and you will be given an application to fill out. The criteria of being a Reserve is the same as an officer...you must be 21 years of age, no felony charges, high school diploma or GED.
